THE TRIPLE SPLIT RATTRAPANTE SHOWS THE TIME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO EVENTS UP TO 12 HOURS !
Once again, A.Lange & Söhne is going further in terms of mechanical complications. The Rattrapante is a complication that allows you to measure the difference (or gap) between a reference point and a second one. For instance, the time difference between the first two athletes of a 200m run or the 3rd and 5th, you choose.
The novelty of the Triple Split is that you can measure it up to 12 hours. It actually means that you can see on your wrist the difference of two « points » in seconds, minutes and hours. That’s why there are two hands on the seconds (at center), the minutes (right counter) and 12 hours counter (at 12 o’clock).
Note that the usual seconds linked to your local time are shown on the white left counter (single hand).
The complication mechanically speaking is Amazing and do not worry about the local time performance, it won’t be affected by the Triple Split mechanism.
You’ll also find a power reserve indication at 6 o’clock (55 hours of power reserve). Quite useful as the calibre L132.1 has a manual winding system.
The back of the Triple Split is a piece of Art. The finishing is wonderful and to be able to look at the different layers of the calibre is very pleasant so the use of a magnifying glass is not an option but a must!
The overall design is Superbe. Knowing the variety of indications that the piece offer, i find it very readable. That’s what we expect from a « Lange » timepiece and we never are disappointed.
