The ZEITWERK collection welcomes a new and very appreciated function : The Date

Introduced at the SIHH 2019, the Lange’s first digital wristwatch line has an additional « Jumping » mechanism and we couldn’t be happier.

The date indication is probably the most useful and popular indication on timepieces and in this case, not only its location (on the dial) is perfect but it expresses so much the brand’s values.

Elegance, Sophistication, Refinement and Mechanical complications are some of the words that come out of my mind when i’m in front of a A.Lange & Söhne creation and this one is no exception.

It’s very pleasant to see that the timepiece offers 72 hours of power reserve because at its peak (midnight), 4 different jumping discs are going to be be activated (two minutes discs + the hour and date discs). Ok, it’s going to happen only once per day but still, the engineering challenge is huge. By the way, 72 hours of power reserve is almost the double compared with the previous references.

On the side case, two corrector are available. One at 8 o’clock for the Date and the other at 4 o’clock to advance the hour indication.

At 6 o’clock, you’ll find a seconds sub dial and at 12 o’clock, the power reserve indicator.

The calibre L043.8 is a new development. The good news is that it keeps the patented constant-force mechanism which handles the power delivered to the balance and the three « time » jumping discs.

Now, what can i say about the decoration/finishing? Simply up to the « Lange » standards which means Marvelous.

Love it! Bravo.
