ROYAL OAK PERPETUAL CALENDAR BLACK CERAMIC
THE DARK SIDE OF THE ROYAL OAK !
In 1955 AUDEMARS PIGUET introduced the world first Perpetual Calendar wristwatch (with the essential leap year indication) and this year (SIHH 2017), the timepiece is wearing a black dress.
Despite the fact that the Ceramic material is extremely resistant thus very difficult to machine (5 times longer for the bracelet), we really love the overall result and the caliber 5134. The movement is very fine and complicated mechanically… All indications are clear and « Classical » design-wise. We very appreciate the outer ring displaying the week of the year.
More than 600 hours of research were required to end up with this final version and the ceramic is hand-finished!
The creation is surprisingly light and easy to set up thanks to the correctors on the side case.
The evolution of a creation can be related to a material, design or mouvement… but no matter the option chosen by the brand if the Tradition & Know-how is there, you will enjoy it and that’s definitely the case with the ROYAL OAK PERPETUAL CALENDAR BLACK CERAMIC.
Bravo, AUDEMARS PIGUET.
