Blancpain was holding a big one for Baselworld 2018! The type of launch/timepiece that will stay in my memory. In fact, neither complications appeared in the collections until now and yes, there is a « S » in the word « complication » because two of them are present.

Now, let’s make it clear : 2018 marks the first time in the history of the Maison Horlogère that Jumping hours & Retrograde minutes appear! and if it wasn’t enough, they decided to integrate them inside the same calibre, the 260MR. You will also find a Grand Feu enamel dial and gorgeous hand guilloché bridges visible through the transparent case back.

I love the location of the jumping hours aperture and retrograde minutes sub-dial. I find it very elegant and the font of the hour numbers plays for sure, a major role aesthetically. The « 8 » shape (or two circles) brings a nice balance and clear separation between the time indication and regulating organ. It makes the creation pretty effective and entertaining on the wrist.

The decoration is well executed and made me almost forget that a power reserve indicator is present on the back (at 9 o’clock). A confortable 6 days or 144 hours of energy is offered (fully winded) which is pretty nice thinking that the complications work together and « jump » at the same time each hour.

Simply part of my top 2 Blancpain favourites.
Very well done! Bravo.
