The Octo collection (in particular the Finissimo’s) is part of the best watch designs of the last decade. The Italian maison has finally its contemporary silhouette and over the years, they developed many variants with world records in terms of thinness. This Minute repeater is part of them as it is the world’s thinness wrist mechanism to indicate the time with sounds.

Launched in 2016, this new version (2018) is made of Carbon CTP. At first, it looks like Damascus steel but it’s not and i have to say that the material is quite impressive as it allows machines to produce sharp angles in a very high quality.

I’ll never get tired to look at the lugs and cut hour indications on the dial. Both bring coherence in the concept and offer an experience on the wrist. The sound of the Minute repeater is Superb! I was surprised by how loud and clear the mechanism is. I also appreciate the pusher at 9 o’clock because it’s a push in mechanism and not a slider.

Ultra-light and Elegant at a surprisingly « low » price. 160K for a world record timepiece, Minute repeater, « iconic design » and limited edition… More than fair. It’s a lot a money but i’ve seen way higher in other places for a « softer cocktail » proposition.

Definitely my favourite version.

Well done, BVLGARI.
