PAPILLON JUMPING HOUR
THE BVLGARI « PAPILLON » JUMPING HOUR OFFERS ITS OWN WAY TO LOOK AT 60 MINUTES !
BVLGARI presents its own interpretation of Daniel Roth’s invention and the timepiece wonderful.
We can see a real consistency & complementarity using an heritage aquired and the famous BVLGARI Italian Luxury touch.
Its aesthetic is clear, sober and eye catching! At the very first look, many would think of a retrograde complication but you’re wrong…
Inspired by the gestures of a butterfly, this patented system has two "diamond shape" hands.
One points the actual minutes and the other is « off-duty » for an hour. Around the minute 55th, the off-duty hand completes a quarter turn and joins the other one in a parallel position on the 00 marker.
This complication has a big advantage. It uses less power then a standard minute indicaton. It also means more power reserve (in this case 42 hours).
The caliber BVL 252 is a bidirectional self-winding movement with a jumping hour at 12 o'clock.
Well done! BVLGARI.
