When they told me that those timepieces had a very special/artistic patina,
i never thought of such look!
On this one, the « Green rusty », it looks like the piece comes directly from the ocean abyss and that’s precisely when the storytelling starts.

First of all, i want to mention that the case is made of Bronze and treated with a special recipe. There is no risk of allergy and you can imagine all tests that the brand has done in order to make sure that the watch is skin compatible or simply reach the regulations.

In fact, this edition pays homage to an expedition of the French naval history : The Frigates of Astrolabe and Boussole. They has sailed with five Marine Chronometers made by Ferdinand Berthoud and their objective was to explore the Pacific ocean. In March 1788, they vanished and in 2005 a sextant was unearthed oxidised (217 years after). That’s basically what inspired Mr. Scheufele and his team.

Even tho the movement & design is the same as the one introduced at the SIHH 2018, i think that this surprising patina deserves a publication. Plus, the story around those five pieces is pretty great.

Now, the question is who would buy or wear such piece? In particular, this one the Green rusty. The four others being more « pleasant » visually, if i might say.
Well, i don’t know but i assume it would be a person who loves History and Marine chronometers… and of course, Wonderful mechanical timepieces!
