Girard-Perregaux continues to surprise the market with new evolutions of their iconic three bridges. In this particular case, you’ll find only two bridges on the dial but the idea is to offer something distinctive, recognizable at a very different price point. It’s still a 38K watch but if you compare it to a three bridges, i would say that its price is divided by four (more or less).

The concept is pretty well done! I like the « Symmetry » of the piece. The micro-rotor (on the left, 10.30) and the barrel (on the right, 1.30) look like two eyes (the « Mouth » being be the balance wheel at 6 o’clock). This kind of « face » effect stands out more on the pictures than worn on the wrist. The two bridges are hand finished as the overall dial components! Just Beautiful.

It’s quite disturbing to have a self winding calibre without any rotor on the back… Nevertheless, it adds another original « feature » and to me, that’s a positive point.

Within Girard-Perregaux’s range of timepieces, the Classic Bridges is for sure an great alternative and it also gives the possibility to new clients to experience the world of « G.P »! Now, Are they willing to accept two bridges instead of three? What’s the question.
