HOROLOGICAL MACHINE N°7 AQUAPOD
MB&F's « JELLYFISH »
This time, MB&F explores the seas and once again with their own approach. It all started with an encounter between Maximilian Büsser's wife and a jellyfish. I'm sure that many of us had the same experience or fear during "pleasant" holiday times… Now, the difference is that Mr. Büsser is able to create (from a specific moment) a timepiece unlike anyone else in the watch industry.
The HM7 has also a second inspiration. The 18th century « onion » pocket watches. More related to its movement, you can clearly see (on the HM7) a vertical structure starting from the winding rotor "tentacles" to the 60 seconds Flying Tourbillon on the top.
The development is Stunning! either the movement or the case were pretty challenging.
For instance, the time is shown by two symmetric rings (the hour and the minutes above). These components are extremely difficult to produce because when you are working with curves, basically everything is more complex/demanding (the production, the finishing…)
Between the outer ceramic bezel and the central dome, two crowns are present. The one on the left is used to wind the movement and the right one for the time setting.
The HM7 Aquapod is not really a diving watch even if you can swim with it (50 meters of water resistance) but in my opinion, it’s a wonderful expression of how someone can tell a story from a personal experience and that’s what i love with MB&F.
