YES, YOU CAN « PLAY » WITH A PERPETUAL CALENDAR !

Now (in 2018) available in Titanium, the GPHG 2016 « Calendar Watch » winner shows its Green side. Limited edition of 50 pieces, the LM Perpetual is a piece of Art : Aesthetically & Mechanically

Developed by Stephen McDonnell, the timepiece indicates the Day - Date - Month - Leap Year (retrograde, between 7 and 8 o’clock)  - Power reserve (between 4 and 5 o’clock) - Hour & Minutes.

The challenge here was to re-think a Perpetual Calendar which is by the way, one of the most difficult complication in the Watchmaking industry and eliminate the drawbacks of conventional ones. In traditional P. Calendar’s, the setting is painful and the movement pretty fragile, in particular if you want to change an indication around midnight. In fact, their mechanisms are conceived with a logic of 31 days per month.

In the LM Perpetual, the « Mechanical Processor » uses 28 days per month as default and adds the extra days, it actually means that its conception is based on a fresh and totally new direction compared to conventional Perpetual Calendars. You can play as much as you want with the timepiece, nothing will break!

In terms of design, Eric Giroud did once again a Fantastic job finding a perfect balance between classic elements (like round subdials) and a true contemporary (almost futuristic) invitation to discover each tiny components of its front side.

Four pushers are present on the side case to easily adjust the indications and the crown takes care of the time setting and winding operations.
