THE FIRST PANERAI MOON PHASE AMONGST MANY OTHER COMPLICATIONS !

If you like mechanical complications, you're at the right place and will be pleased with the Astronomo Luminor 1950 Tourbillon Moon Phase Equation of Time Gmt. Introduced at the SIHH 2018, its name says it all or almost…

The first thing to mention is that the timepiece will be produced in accordance with the geographical place chosen by its futur owner.

In terms of mechanical complications, it’s incredible! You’ll find an Month indicator (at 3 o’clock) - a Small seconds (at 9 o’clock) - Panerai’s tourbillon (between 10 and 11 o’clock) - A linear equation of time (below the central hands) - A Sunrise/Sunset display with the numbers 4 to 8. On the back, A day and night indication above the Moon phase and A power reserver indication (4 days to 0).
A true pleasure the see them all packed inside a Luminor 1950 case!

Another interesting point is the patented « Polarised Crystals » which indicate the date. The disc is almost invisible! and thanks to this technique, you can enjoy the brand’s work over the calibre P.2005/GLS and its overall environment. The technique is very interesting, specially for skeletonized pieces and quite magic as the date is only visible through its dedicated window at 3 o’clock.

On the back, the moon phase is shown thanks to a system of two superimposed discs. Both are in rotation according to the geographical choice of the owner and smartly made, in particular the upper disc with the day/night indication.

Clearly one of the highlights of the SIHH 2018.
Wonderful timepiece!
