SUBMERSIBLE MIKE HORN EDITION

Mike Horn is the Greatest explorer alive. Conferences, Books, TV shows… If you’ve seen/read what this man has accomplished, you just applaud. More than an extraordinary athlete, i love the message and spirit that « Mike » has. He often says that each expedition is a life lesson and honestly
Who can be more sensitive to the global environment than an explorer ?

The global warming is a very important subject and i’m glad to see such hero collaborate (for more than 15 years) with a lovely brand like Panerai. Their association makes totally sense as the Maison Horlogère started its journey as the official supplier of the Italian navy and this very special Submersible edition takes it to a whole new level.

The overall concept this time is to offer a diving wristwatch made of recycled materials. The case, winding crown protection, bezel and back is made out of Eco Titanium (basically recycled Titanium). For the strap, they chose recycled PET and i was quite surprised to see how comfortable the material is.

Another interesting detail are the inscriptions « Panerai Submersible » and « Automatic 300m/1000ft ». Due to reflection issues, you can’t see them in our own pictures but they’re clearly visible on the press images and i obviously have seen them during the hands-on. Most of the time, the inscriptions are printed on the dial but on this one, they are on the sapphire crystal! I like this sort of little « twist » and it makes the creation recognizable.

Only 19 pieces are produced and their lucky owners will have the opportunity to go on a very special training with the man, Mr. Mike Horn in the Arctic.

A Wonderful concept and execution for a creation that looks and feel very high-end! It’s amazing to see how recycled materials can be transformed.

Well done! PANERAI.
