Here is the first creation of Alchemists! A new brand founded by Fabrice Thüler, Hervé Schlüchter and Denis Vipret. These gentlemen have a pretty solid background in the Watchmaking industry and
let’s say, a very unique way to approach their marketing message

Nevertheless, the timepiece is very interesting and beautifully executed. Two things directly caught my eye! First, the shape of the balance-spring and the 3D architecture of the movement. Those characteristics are quite rare in the current market and they are clearly positioning themselves in the high-end segment.

At 12 o’clock, the off-center time dial is nice/clear and made of « Grand Feu » enamel. I like its simplicity and the fact that you can quickly read the information.

At 6 o’clock, the small seconds sub-dial brings some animation and consistency to the creation. If you look closely, half of the front face is covered. The other half is thus open, letting you appreciate the beauty of the calibre 003. So to me, it makes sense to find a central aperture on the seconds sub-dial.

I love the two visible barrels in the background. They obviously are going to move (when you’ll wind the movement) and on the top, some inscriptions are engraved representing the motto of the brand « Mechanical Healing »

Two additional indication are present. Between 9 and 11 o’clock, a Power reserve indicator (72 hours) and a selector (at 3 o’clock) pointing to the letter « W » (Wind) or « S » (Set)

The case is made of Cuprum 479. An alloy in which there is 80% of copper. Some other components are also in Cuprum 479 (like the crown, buckle…) but the interesting thing here is the proportion of the case back base and sapphire glass. There is definitely a will to show the movement! in particular the balance-spring and who will blame them? This section is just Stunning.

Good Luck, The Alchemists.
