Day of the week, Date, Month and Moon phase in a self winding calibre

The Fiftysix collection has also a timepiece (Pink gold & Stainless steel versions) for collectors whom love mechanical complications.

The consistency of the collection and its placement on the Watchmaking « map » is very well thought! and to me, it’s already a big achievement. From a simple Hour/Minutes reference to this complete calendar (which is so far the top of the line), you’ll for sure find one for your wrist. I like the fact that the dial has clear codes, shapes, gold elements (which is also the case for the rotor, on the back) and a wonderful calibre.

At the center, a day and month windows are present and at 6 o’clock an obvious moon phase indication. The only thing that perhaps might confuse some of you is the central hand pointing the date. Nowadays, we’re use to see this type of configuration on GMT’s creations but if you talk to collectors, they will tell you that in the 70’s some watches already had such date aesthetics.

Clearly designed to conquer a younger clientele, i can totally understand why the complete calendar is the one if you’re into mechanical complications & Vacheron Constantin. In fact, you just need to explore its back to enjoy the brand’s expertise. Perlage, Côtes de Genève finishing, a stunning rotor with different textures, etc… Well, a true pleasure! Can’t wait to see the next ones.

Well done! Vacheron Constantin.
