THE REINTERPRETATION OF A 40’S ICON !

VACHERON CONSTANTIN has a huge patrimony and to be able to pick some « Beauties » of your own archives must simply be Fantastic. Here you have the reinterpretation of the reference 4240L presented in 1948. An interesting exercice as the brand has to find the right balance between the original creation and the present-day. The result is Brilliant! because the overall aesthetic/concept remains and the timepiece is at the same time very contemporary.

The refined dial is very well executed! I love the week day & month windows below VACHERON CONSTANTIN’S logo. In addition, you’ll find a moonphase at 6 o’clock (within the seconds sub dial) and a red arrow pointing the date.

The calibre 4400 QCL has a manual winding system and the Hallmark of Geneva. It isn’t a surprise to have 253 components as the piece has a lot of indications.

Its Pink Gold case has a diameter of 40mm. It could be perceived as small in today’s market but first, it depends the region/country you’re talking about and to me, it fits the general concept as the piece reinterprets a late 40’s icon.

Well done ! VACHERON CONSTANTIN.
